AJT Noir Times sounds like the score to a lost Abel Ferrera cyberpunk picture. Slick, sick, dark; rumbling waves of dancefloor oppression. This is dystopia deluxe.

Having discovered Filmmaker via Boards of Canada's Societas x Tape (Warp 30), I haven't looked back. These calculated aural atrocities are game changers on a similar level to Karen Gwyer's irrepressible output. Filmmaker is at once reliably bleak, consistently flawless. Favorite track: Extinction Wave.

charlotte2090 just hit after hit. this album basically tetered me over the edge of being obsessed with this genre. i'd consider it a classic even at such a young age. Favorite track: Cult Founders.

The fifth vinyl release of HC Records is signed by the Colombian artist Filmmaker. This sound alchemist immerses us in a maze of rhythms and low fi atmospheres that take us back to universes in 8 bits, hidden laboratories with gigantic synthesizers and old rhythm boxes where the electro synth has a main presence.

The first cut of face A is the powerful "Extinction Wave", an effective electro percussive composition, where a dominant bass drives the fate of production around dark melodies and passages loaded with sinister epicity.

"Beast Folk" takes us on the path of Post punk: distorted guitars, sharp synthesizers and a constant sweeping feeling of primitive unreality.

Face B hides in its first cut one of the great jewels of vinyl, "Noir Times", a theme that gives its name to Ep. An exciting production where Filmmaker develops all its melodic potential focused on the dance floor, enhanced by the dynamics of broken rhythms to generate an instant hymn, electro synth straight to your brain.

"Cult Founders" transports us fully to a ritual of ancestral synthesizers, oriental sounds and crispy metallic percussions worthy of a mystical pagan celebration that hatch in a musical orgy for the ear.

Filmmaker closes the vinyl with Vestigium, a dreamlike journey where our senses are calmed, once again giving prominence to the melodies on a calm but forceful rhythm fractured around guitars loaded with murky echoes of the past.

An emotional and exciting ending.

Disruption is the first bonus track only available in digital format with which we return to the rough and raw broken rhythms that strike forcefully on the dance floor, where the frenzy and hypnotism of its main melody leads us around an amalgam of enveloping effects in continuous and full mutation, reinforced by a second melody that energizes its entire journey and gives it a certain disturbing aura.

The vinyl attached a digital download code where you can enjoy the whole ep with two bonus tracks.

La quinta referencia en vinilo de HC Records viene firmada por el artista colombiano Filmmaker. Este alquimista del sonido nos sumerge en un laberinto de ritmos y atmósferas low fi que nos retrotraen a universos en 8 bits, recónditos laboratorios con gigantescos sintetizadores y viejas cajas de ritmo donde el electro synth tiene una principal presencia.

El primer corte de la cara A es el poderoso “Extinction Wave”, una efectiva composición de electro percusivo, donde un dominante bajo conduce el destino de la producción alrededor de oscuras melodías y pasajes cargados de siniestra epicidad.

“Beast Folk” nos adentra en la senda del Post punk: guitarras distorsionadas, afilados sintetizadores y una constante arrebatadora sensación de primitiva irrealidad.

La cara B oculta en su primer corte una de las grandes joyas del vinilo, “Noir Times”, tema que da nombre al Ep. Una emocionante producción donde Filmmaker desarrolla todo su potencial melódico enfocado a la pista de baile, potenciado por la dinámica de los ritmos rotos para generar un himno instantáneo, electro synth directo a tu cerebro.

“Cult Founders” nos transporta de lleno a un ritual de sintetizadores ancestrales, sonidos orientales y crujientes percusiones metálicas dignas de una mística celebración pagana que eclosionan en una orgía musical para el oído.

Filmmaker da cierre al vinilo con Vestigium, un viaje onírico donde sosiega nuestros sentidos dando de nuevo protagonismo a las melodías sobre un sosegado pero contundente ritmo fracturado alrededor de guitarras cargadas de turbios ecos del pasado.

Un fin de fiesta emocional y emocionante.

Disruption es el primer bonus track solo disponible en formato digital con el que regresamos a los ritmos rotos rudos y crudos que golpean contundentemente en la pista de baile, donde el frenesí e hipnotismo de su melodía principal nos conduce en torno a un amalgama de efectos envolventes en continua y plena mutación, reforzados por una segunda melodía que dinamiza todo su recorrido y lo dota de un cierto aura inquietante.

El vinilo adjunta un código de descarga en digital donde se podrá disfrutar del ep completo junto a dos bonus tracks.
